Optiro presents a four day training course which has been drawn from industry best practice and almost thirty years of estimation experience. The course covers the resource evaluation cycle and focuses on the practical aspects of estimation and evaluation. Over the four days attendees will take on the key concepts related to processes from data collection and quality assurance through to classification. These concepts are reinforced through a large number of practical activities, all of which focus around the same real-life data set.
Presenter
Ian Glacken has presented hundreds of courses to thousands of participants over the last 20 years. He is a geologist and a geostatistician who has developed and given courses in resource evaluation, QAQC, grade control, reconciliation and conditional simulation worldwide. Ian has a strong production background and is a regular auditor for the world’s largest mining companies. For more details see our people.
Audience
The course is designed for geologists and mining engineers involved in resource estimation and evaluation. Your level experience will be up to ten years. We assume a reasonable knowledge of geology and familiarity with mathematical concepts, but you do not need to know any geostatistics or matrix algebra!
