Excel is the Swiss Army Knife of the mining, exploration and resource geologist – but are you making the most of its capabilities? This one day course draws from Optiro’s many years of experience to show (and remind) you of the skills you really need to save time. Learn how to present data graphically to best advantage, how to generate flexible resource reports using pivot tables, how to generate basic (and not so basic)statistics, how to use sorting and advanced filtering to wade through drilling and mining data, how to depict and process reconciliation data and much more. Each attendee will receive a toolbox of very useful templates which are guaranteed to enhance productivity.
Presenter
Paul Blackney is a mining and resource geologist with 28 years experience. Paul has used Excel in all facets of the exploration and production cycle and has developed many innovative applications and tools. Paul has presented many courses and has a focus on the transfer of practical knowledge from a working geologist to other working geologists. For more details see our people.
Audience
The course is designed for exploration, mining database and resource geologists who would like to enhance their Excel skills and gain exposure to a toolbox of productivity enhancements. Some very basic familiarity with Excel is required but no advanced knowledge or programming skills are needed. The course is designed to be practical and you will learn by doing.
