We would like to invite you on a journey throughout Southern Africa and Australia to explore a range of types of uranium deposits. Optiro the “surprise” in Mine Consulting Survey
31/03/2010

imageAfter a mere 18 months since starting business Optiro beat a number of long established companies in the space to be named runner up Best Overall Consultancy in the inaugural HighGrade survey.

HighGrade magazine surveyed 184 mining, exploration and contract mining companies to gauge views on the technical leadership of mining consultancies. HighGrade noted “... West Perth-based Optiro garnered enough votes to pull off something of an upset second place in the standings: not surprising in the sense that the growing Optiro team is highly regarded by a number of small and large mining/project development companies – one respondent describing them as a team of “highly skilled resource consultants” – but due to the fact that the company has only been around since 2008 and has already lived through a tumultuous market downturn.”

We founded Optiro not long ago with a goal to provide advisory services in a different way. Based on a passion to minimise project risks and optimise project outcomes we have set about working closely with our clients to challenge the status quo of operations. We have lamented how the consulting profession has been seen to not deliver to clients, so much so, debate rages in our business as to whether we even want to be seen as a consultant!

As a group of people that prefers to let our actions speak louder than our words we don’t go seeking accolades but we sure are pleased to be recognised. We thank our clients for their support and promise to keep pushing harder to provide real benefit to them through more innovative thinking.

So from the ‘un-consultant’, a big thanks to all.

SolarisCare Red Sky Ride
31/03/2010

image A group of dedicated cyclists recently tested their physical and mental endurance over 1000 kilometres in eight days in The Red Sky Ride to raise funds for the SolarisCare Foundation Cancer Support Centre.

Mark Drabble, a Principal Geologist at Optiro was one of 22 riders who took part in this gruelling event.

With a large support team, and multitudes of sponsors they achieved the extraordinary – they’re efforts will help broaden the access to support services that achieve a reduction in pain, and a big improvement in sense of well being, whilst undergoing treatment for cancer, be it chemotherapy, radiotherapy or surgery. They also promoted awareness of a service that provides support and touch therapies to the carers of people with cancer, the very people that shoulder the huge range of concerns whilst trying to provide a positive and supportive environment for those they care so much about.

As a financial sponsor of the event, Optiro is proud of Mark and the team who have again raised around $300,000 for SolarisCare this year, an outstanding achievement.
