Senior Consultant (Mining)

 

  • Experienced Open Pit or Underground Mining Engineer (prefer mix of both – not essential)

The Role

The role is to undertake project management, financial analysis, mine design, planning and scheduling to meet our client’s needs on a wide range of open pit and underground projects. Additionally, you will be involved in the project management, mentoring of junior engineers and assisting our Principal Consultants with obtaining work and maintaining our existing client base. The position requires good communication and interaction within the Optiro team and with all external parties. The ability to present a professional work aptitude and a willingness to assist in all functions of the business is important.

The role will suit an engineer who has significant operational  experience and confidence in their planning and analysis capabilities who is seeking a Perth Based role, wanting to further their career by becoming involved in projects ranging from conceptual studies through to detailed feasibility work and operational reviews. The role is Perth based with occasional domestic and international travel which can be flexible to accommodate personal circumstances.

 

Your Contribution

You will have a degree in mining engineering with 7 – 10 years experience and  be proficient in at least one mine design and scheduling package, experience with Datamine / Mine 24D would be advantageous. You will need good analytical and proficient report writing skills and a willingness to lead and mentor junior engineers.

 

Our Contribution

Remuneration is industry based with the final value appropriate to your experience. Hours are generally regular office hours but may require some adjustment to meet the needs of specific projects. You will be supported by a peer group of seasoned industry professionals.
